The most common specific causes include:

MEDICATIONS
Accutane (isotretinoin) 10 mg capsules are a low-dose vitamin-A derivative used to treat severe or persistent cystic acne. This dosage is frequently used for "microdosing" or extended, low-dose treatment plans to minimize typical side effects while clearing skin.
Amoxicillin is a widely-prescribed penicillin-type antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections like pneumonia, strep throat, and ear, sinus, or urinary tract infections. It works by stopping bacterial growth but is completely ineffective against viral illnesses like the common cold or flu.
Staph infections are treated primarily with prescription antibiotics, which may be administered as topical creams, oral pills, or intravenous (IV) fluids. The specific medication depends on the severity and type of infection, as well as whether the bacteria is a resistant strain like MRSA.
Common Antibiotics
Oral Medications: For mild to moderate skin infections, doctors frequently prescribe antibiotics like cephalexin (Keflex), dicloxacillin, or clindamycin.
Topical Ointments: Superficial skin infections (like impetigo) may only require prescription-strength antibiotic creams, such as mupirocin (Bactroban).
LUNG INFECTIONS
Lung infections—or pulmonary infections—occur when harmful microbes like viruses, bacteria, or fungi enter the airways or air sacs. They cause inflammation and a variety of symptoms, ranging from mild chest congestion to severe pneumonia. Infections are classified by the pathogen that causes them and the specific part of the respiratory tract they affect.
1. Bacterial Lung Infections
• Pneumonia (Bacterial): The most common form, this directly infects the tiny air sacs (alveoli) in your lungs, filling them with fluid or pus.
Tuberculosis (TB): A highly contagious and chronic bacterial infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Empyema and Lung Abscess: Complications of severe infections where the body traps pus either in the pleural space (between the lung and chest wall) or directly inside a pus-filled cavity in the lung tissue.
2. Viral Lung Infections
Bronchitis (Acute): An inflammation of the large airways (bronchi) that carry air to your lungs.
Bronchiolitis: Infection of the smallest airways (bronchioles), which is very common in young children and infants.
Viral Pneumonia: Inflammation of the lung tissue caused by a virus rather than bacteria. Common culprits include the flu, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), and COVID-19.
3. Fungal Lung Infections
Histoplasmosis & Coccidioidomycosis: Fungal infections caused by inhaling microscopic spores found in soil, bird droppings, or decaying vegetation.
Pneumocystis Pneumonia (PCP): A serious, opportunistic fungal infection that primarily targets individuals with severely weakened immune systems.
4. Mycobacterial Infections
